Zoe Kravitz spoke about the painful decision she made after her parents’ divorce.

During an open discussion in an interview with esquire, The Batman Reflecting on her past decisions, the actress recounted how she moved in with her father, Lenny Kravitz, as a child.

Lenny and Lisa married in 1987 and Zoe was born a year later. The now former couple separated when the actress was just three years old and divorced in 1993.

Zoe initially lived with her mother and, at the age of eleven, decided to move in with her father, where she could “do anything.”

The actress recalled: “It wasn’t that my father didn’t care. He just cared about other things.”

However, she grew up quickly while living with her father and enjoying the lifestyle that comes with fame.

Zoe reflected on moving out of her mother’s house and described the decision as painful: “I think it was very painful that I moved away from her to be with my father and my father wasn’t even there.”

Zoe added: “I just wish I could have appreciated what she did for me.”

As for her work, Zoe will play the lead role and make her directorial debut in the upcoming film Flash twice.

The film, which is set to hit theaters on August 23, stars Zoe and Channing Tatum in the lead role.
