The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to have Ja’Marr Chase on board when they host the New England Patriots to open the 2024 season.

After reducing the roster to 53 men on Tuesday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor met with local media and gave a promising update on Chase, who has fully returned to practice after sitting out training camp.

“It was just good to have our full complement of weapons out there,” Taylor said. “I think it gives you an idea of what it’s going to look and feel like for us. It’s been good to have him (Chase) back the last few days. He’s looked great. Same Ja’Marr I’m used to. The plan will be to continue to practice with him.”

When asked if Chase would likely play against the Pats, Taylor simply answered “yes.”

Taylor also expressed confidence in what second-year receivers Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones can do this season.

“I’ll use Andrei and Chuck as examples of receivers, two guys where you see such a big difference between Year 1 and Year 2, not only do they process, but they play fast. Because they know the system now,” Taylor said.

Unless Chase has any setbacks in training to get up to game speed, he should be ready to go on September 8th.
