Zac Brown accuses his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdiof violating a confidentiality agreement and stealing confidential business information.

In court documents filed late last month and obtained by We weeklyBrown’s legal team claims that Yazdi, 33, stole “confidential information” from the Zac Brown Collective (ZBC) after the couple announced their separation in December 2023, “knowing full well that she would soon be leaving the business.”

Brown’s lawyers claim that with this alleged action, Yazdi “obviously tried to gain influence over the country singer in the divorce proceedings.”

“She forwarded to her personal email address highly sensitive documents about Mr. Brown and ZBC’s business,” the documents say. “Ms. Yazdi stole documents about an unreleased song Mr. Brown was preparing with another artist. … She stole documents about Mr. Brown and ZBC’s finances, company valuations, and other highly sensitive information that she had no right to possess and no legitimate reason to possess.”

Brown, 46, is seeking “injunctive relief and damages” over his ex’s “flagrant breaches of the confidentiality obligations” she allegedly owed him as a former ZBC employee. The documents state that Yazdi was employed at ZBC from August 2022 to February 2024 and allegedly “forwarded nearly 200 emails containing highly confidential and proprietary information” between January and February of this year.

In court documents filed by Yazdi in July, she claimed that not all aspects of her employment contract with Brown were valid and binding.

The documents further allege that Yazdi launched a “defamatory social media campaign” against Brown “that was both false” and a direct violation of her confidentiality obligations. The documents then cited a May Instagram post in which Yazdi spoke of being “reborn” after allegedly experiencing “narcissistic abuse” that included “threats,” “gaslighting” and being told not to post bikini pictures or fitness videos.

Although Yazdi did not mention Brown by name, the musician’s lawyers argue that the “content and timing” of the post, as well as the “inevitably public nature” of her and Brown’s marriage, “would reasonably lead any observer to believe” that Yazdi was referring to Brown in the caption.

The documents state that Brown’s lawyers asked Yazdi to remove the post, citing her confidentiality obligations, but the post remains online.

Yazdi’s Instagram post was far from the beginning of the ex-partners’ hostility, multiple sources report exclusively Us. An insider close to Brown’s family claims Yazdi showed up “unannounced” at Brown’s Georgia home days after he filed for divorce in January. She “escaped security cameras by parking her car out of sight and running through the woods.” A second source claims Yazdi “still owns (Brown’s) car and refuses to give it back.”

In a statement issued with UsYazdi’s lawyers claimed it was “logical” to conclude that the allegations that she showed up at Brown’s home and seized his car came “from (Brown’s) camp” and were “a targeted PR stunt launched as soon as Kelly broke her silence” to “intimidate” her. Yazdi’s lawyers added that she would “continue to defend herself and lawfully tell the truth.” We weekly has asked Brown’s team for comment.

Yazdi also spoke out via Instagram on Thursday, August 8, writing that she hasn’t posted because she’s “afraid that anything I post could result in more lawsuits being filed against me to suppress my freedom of speech.” She also claimed that Brown unexpectedly asked her for a divorce over Zoom.

“Kelly’s claim that Zac unexpectedly told her over Zoom that he wanted a divorce is inaccurate,” a third source tells exclusively Us“They married in August 2023 and Zac personally told her he wanted a divorce the night before Thanksgiving at his home in Georgia.”

Yazdi also claimed in Thursday’s Instagram video that Brown used footage from the couple’s November 2023 wedding reception in the music video for his song “Beautiful Drug (feat. Avicii) – Remix” without her consent “for commercial reasons and to degrade my integrity.” She claimed she was “replaced in the video with a model lookalike” who portrayed her in a “false” light by faking drug use and drinking alcohol.

A source close to the former couple tells exclusively Us that the footage of the model, who Yazdi says resembles her, was filmed in 2018, before Brown met Yazdi. The insider also claims that Yazi was interested in playing the lead actress in the video and “sent correspondence to the videographer and production team.”

As for Yazdi’s claims about the footage of her wedding reception, the source claims that Yazdi “was aware that a video of her wedding reception in Nashville, which showed people dancing in a bar, would be used as the background for the ‘Beautiful Drug’ video because she had the guests sign releases stating whether or not they agreed to their images being used in the video.”

As the duo’s messy divorce continues, a judge ruled in July that the 38-page prenuptial agreement Yazdi and Brown signed before their August 2023 wedding is valid, despite Yazdi’s objections. Brown claims that under the terms of the agreement, Yazdi has already received significant benefits, including a salary for her employment at ZBC and paying off the mortgage on their Hawaii home, even though they have only been married for four months.

Yazdi had previously tried to delay enforcement of the prenuptial agreement by demanding more information about Brown’s finances. Brown’s lawyers noted in court documents that Yazdi and Brown had been in a relationship for two years before the wedding and claimed Yazdi was “overly knowledgeable” about Brown’s finances before signing the prenuptial agreement.
