YG spent Sunday (August 18) brokering the beginning of a ceasefire between rival gangs Treetop Pirus and Fruit Town Pirus, with members joining him in a peace march through Compton in solidarity.

Hundreds of community members showed their support alongside Compton locals like The Game and Wallie the Sensei who arrived at Gonzales Park.

“This,” Game said at the event while wearing a red Givenchy T-shirt. “This shit brings tears to my eyes, buddy. Seeing so much red and shit. Westside Bompton, n—, every neighborhood. Everybody’s good. No bullshit. Nobody feels no tension. This shit makes you happy. It does that to me. I don’t know what it does to you.”

YG added: “It’s a good day – it’s a good day in Bompton right now!”

One fan applauded the truce on X: “N—s don’t know how important this is, Frootz\Treez, two gangsters that were pretty much a brotherhood until 2003/2004 then it all went wrong, it’s crazy to see it all come back together.”

After releasing the first installments in 2011 and 2013, YG returned over a decade later on Friday (August 16) with his project Re’d Up 3. The album consists of a double CD with 19 tracks from friends such as Ty Dolla $ign, Saweetie, Lil Yachty, Mozzy, Larry June, Babyface Ray and his frequent collaborator Mustard.
