OSHKOSH (NBC 26 – A new festival is coming to Oshkosh. XRoads41 will be held on the same property as Country USA.

• Oshkosh’s summer events bring a boom to local businesses.

XRoads41 will feature 17 different artists, including Journey, Shaggy and The Old Dominion.

Festival manager John Gourley says it took two years to put the event together.

“We’ve taken a lot of time to look at all the other festivals in the country, and especially all the festivals in the Midwest, and are trying to evolve the experience for customers in a way they’ve never experienced before,” he says.

After graduating from EAA, Caitlin Macwilliams of Discover Oshkosh says:
XRoads41 is another event in a long list of attractions here…

“We always welcome visitors – the residents and local business owners are obviously happy about the additional influx of people here,” she says.

Business owners like Ken Osmond.

“It constantly draws attention to the city and local businesses,” he says.

Osmond is the owner of Planet Perk Coffee.

He says Oshkosh is a great place to run a business because of the summer events.

“We are proud of groups like EAA and XRoads41,” he says. “XRoads41 had a vision, they laid it out and I think they successfully executed it, and we will all benefit from that.”

And visitors like those from XRoads41 enjoy spending time in Oshkosh.

“Oh, we love Oshkosh. When we need time off from the festival, we go swimming in Butte Des Morts or to the movies. So we explore the area,” says one XRoads41 participant.
