The Würth Group achieved sales of EUR 10.2 billion in the first half of 2024, a decrease of 3.2 percent compared to the previous year; adjusted for currency effects, the decrease was 2.6 percent.

Sales of the German companies of the Würth Group amounted to EUR 4 billion, compared to EUR 4.2 billion in the same period last year. The companies outside Germany recorded a slight decline in sales of 1.8 percent compared to the previous year. In the core business of the Würth Group, the Auto Division recorded positive growth of 4.2 percent.

The Würth Group’s operating result of EUR 525 million is below the previous year’s figure (2023: EUR 680 million) due to the lower sales volume in the first half of the year. The Würth Group continues to have a solid financial basis. S&P Global Ratings has reaffirmed the Würth Group’s “A/Outlook stable” rating in June 2024.

In the past twelve months, the Group has also created over 300 new jobs in the areas of digitalization and IT. The Würth Group currently employs 88,616 people worldwide, of whom 44,437 work in sales. Around 1,200 employees joined the company through acquisitions.

Robert Friedmann, spokesman for the Würth Group’s management, emphasizes: “Our sales development continues to be strongly influenced by the economy, which is particularly noticeable in the plants that supply the automotive industry, for example. Nevertheless, we are sticking to our anti-cyclical strategy: we invest when others are holding back. We are continuing to expand our sales activities across all channels such as field sales, shops and e-business, while at the same time investing in IT and driving forward digitalization. The promise of highly available products for our more than four million customers worldwide is our top priority.”
