WRUP: It turns out this was buried in ice for a good reason

So let’s start with the good. The creature we found buried in the ice isn’t going to try to eat our brains or any other body parts. It’s not a shapeshifter and we don’t think it’s harmful in any way. When we warmed it up, it let out a deafening moan that would make someone’s nose bleed, but it immediately apologized and said that was just a morning thing. It’s not trying to really hurt us.

Unfortunately, it’s also really annoying. We’re trying to prepare for long-term survival, and yet it insists that it’s practically “nacho time” every few hours. It’s decided that anything that melts on anything else will make nachos. Also, its sweat is kind of alcohol, but it tastes awful, but it still makes the thing drunk. It keeps doing jumping jacks and then gets so drunk it can’t keep its balance to do them. Honestly, we understand why someone buried it in ice. We’ll see if it plays our new “hit yourself in the head and get buried again” game, so let us know what you’re playing while we do that.

Bonus question: What obscure series (books, video games, TV series, whatever) do you personally just not like? Remember, we’re not talking about big things here, but about obscure media.

Andreas Ross (@Subscribe): Puppy duties aside, it’s a light gaming event weekend for me. I might try to make my practice games harder… or get into Splatoon to prepare for the final event, heh.

If Firefly is too close to the mainstream, then uh… the Phantasy Star Online Games? I had fun making Phantasy Star 1, Phantasy Star 3And Fantasy Star 4 (never finished one), but I just couldn’t get into the online games. It’s not your fault, PSOthat’s totally me!

Brianna Royce (@SubscribeBlog): I hope in Guild Wars 2 this weekend finally. I was too busy to do it this week, so clear some space for me this weekend!

Does anyone remember the TV show LEXX? It was on around the same time as Farscape, when science fiction was just starting to take off, and unlike Farscape, it was absolutely and truly awful.

Carlo Lacsina (@UltraMudkipEXYouTube, Twitch): I will probably play through Honkai: Star Trail, Zenless Zone ZeroAnd Wuthering Waves. I’m currently in my gacha era.

Bonus: Tough question! I don’t know if it’s THAT obscure, but I don’t really like the show/manhea (Korean manga) “Solo Leveling”. Basically, the world is being invaded by MMO tropes. So seriously, that’s what happens. Society then literally transforms into people doing raids to kill dungeon bosses. The main character is basically given the ability to level up after a botched raid. I don’t like this current trend in media where video game tropes are unironically intrusive.

Chris Neal (@SubscribeBlog): I have found my way back to Guild Wars 2so that will probably be a main feature; I put the Weaver away, picked up a Necromancer and am slowly moving around the open base world to collect hero points and try out Reaper. In addition, there will be some Final Fantasy XIV Projects, Elite: Dangerous Collect materials, and more silky smooth The Lord of the Rings Online Captain on an adventure.

Bonus: I was looking for something to fill the Warehouse 13-shaped hole in my heart and stumbled upon the series Haven and didn’t enjoy it as much as others who drew parallels between the two series. Personally, I found The Librarians to be a better analogue.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_LefebvreBlog): Some play FFXIVspend some time with my family and just… try to breathe, I guess. It’s been a pretty awful week, but that’s something that’s been happening to me a lot lately.

I have a perhaps irrational aversion to the Yo-Kai Watch series that is still pretty obscure on the whole. It just always bothered me and I couldn’t even say why. On top of that, I still harbor a personal and deep-seated grudge against the short-lived series FlashForward, which aggressively promoted itself around the time Lost was airing and just… seemed like it was trying to do the same thing again. There was a much There were a lot of shows that did that back then. None of them were particularly good, but this one somehow stuck in my mind.

Thomas E. (Blog): Twiddling my thumbs in World of Warcraft while I wait for the expansion to fully release. I still have two Covenant campaigns to unlock and a few more cosmetic items, and then I’ll have done everything I wanted to in Shadowlands.

Bonus question: I probably forgot a lot of stuff, especially because it was obscure. Since Chris reminded me, I’ll say “The Librarians.” I only watched the pilot episode, but it was terrible.

Pierre, Patron: After a very busy summer with no time to play, I am back home and have found some time to Cyberpunk2077 with the Phantom Liberty DLC. I’m going to try to finish the game this time, I’d like to see how the story ends. No MMO for me at the moment, I don’t have enough time to invest in games that I now consider very time-consuming; sorry MMOs, I like you anyway. But I think besides the lack of time, my lack of interest in MMOs in recent years is also due to the fact that they are becoming more and more single-player friendly and do not encourage group formation. I feel like they have been somehow “desocialized” and since the social part is what I enjoy the most, they don’t suit my taste like they used to.

Bonus question: I hope the TV series Preacher qualifies as obscure. I think so, because I only know about it because my best friend really likes the show and made me watch the first two episodes. I really can’t stand it, I got bored and disgusted very quickly and couldn’t find anything interesting in the show.
