Would Devin Strader choose “Bachelorette” Jenn Tran over his ex?

Would Devin Strader choose “Bachelorette” Jenn Tran over his ex?

Fans watched Bachelorette Jenn Tran wrestle with the decision of whether to allow her ex-boyfriend Matt Rossi to join her season of the show. This revelation stirred emotions among the remaining contestants. Devin Strader, in particular, was vocal, stating that he would leave the show if Matt stayed. Was he serious? Let’s take a closer look at his stance.

During an appearance on Bachelor Happy Hour, Devin Strader clarified his position on the matter. When Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt asked if he was really ready to go, Devin answered in the affirmative. “Oh yeah, that’s really how I felt,” he said. “I prefer to think a lot about what I’m going to say rather than just blurting out words. But in that moment, for me, it was pure emotion.”

Devin explained that his determination was based on past experiences. “I’ve played the ex-game before. It’s been a recurring theme in my life. I wanted Jenn to have the strength to turn all of this around. I’m laying it all out there so this woman can see where things could lead.”

Jenn ultimately decided to send Matt home, much to the collective relief of the participants. This outcome was confirmation to Devin and the rest of the group that Jenn had made the right choice. Reflecting on his intense reaction, Devin said, “It was deeply personal for me. Jenn and I had just gone on a one-on-one date where I confessed to her that I was falling in love with her. The idea that someone from her past could disrupt our journey was unsettling.”

Devin admitted he was worried about an ex re-entering Jenn’s life, confessing, “If she had let Matt stay, I really would have left. I understand seeking comfort in a past relationship, but this is not something I want to deal with. I would have supported Jenn if she felt Matt’s presence was necessary, but I would have done that from a distance.”

He reiterated his stance, stressing that while he understands people’s feelings and choices, he must remain true to his own principles. “I wouldn’t judge anyone for their choices,” Devin noted. “But I know what I want to be a part of and what I don’t want to be a part of. And if that meant I had to step back, I was willing to do that.”

What do you think about Devin’s statement? Do you think he made the right decision by standing by his decision?
