World Space Day: Fiction on August 16

On August 23, National Space Day is celebrated across India to commemorate the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon in 2023. As part of this day, the Cosmology Education and Research Training Center is organizing The (COSMOS) project of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics in collaboration with the University of Mysore is organizing a science fiction writing competition in Kannada on August 16.

Anyone between the ages of 18 to 35 is welcome to participate in this contest. They need to come to Vijnana Bhavan, Manasagangotri, Mysuru on 16th August. The three possible topics and the rules and regulations are given at the link https://bit.ly/cosmosfiction. Participants can register for the contest from 3:00 pm and will have time from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm to write their entry stories at the venue.

You can prepare in advance to write a story on one of the three topics we have listed on the website. Submissions will be judged by a committee and winners will be awarded at National Space Day on August 23 at the same venue. There is no entry fee for this competition.
