World of Warcraft announces when Earthen will be playable in The War Within

World of Warcraft has just announced that players can unlock the new allied race of Earth in The war within on September 3. Although many fans hoped that this new World of Warcraft Racing during Early Access, players will have to wait a little longer to create their Earth characters.

The war withinthe 10th World of Warcraft Expansion and the first in the Worldsoul saga, is officially live and brings with it a ton of new content. There are many things to look forward to in the expansion, but one of the main features is the Earthens – the stone dwarves native to the continent of Khaz Algar, and World of Warcraft‘s newest allied race.


Now, World of Warcraft has revealed exactly when players can meet the requirements to unlock this new allied race. To play as an Earthen, you must complete the story of The war withinincluding the max-level campaign, and complete three side stories that further explore their culture. However, the final chapters of the endgame campaign are not yet available in the game. On the official Wow Forum, Community Manager Kaivax confirmed that the final part of this campaign will be available on September 3rd, allowing fans to finally unlock the Earthen.


How to unlock Irden in WoW: The War Within

  • Complete the campaign, including the quests at the level cap of WoW: The War Within.
    • The final chapter will be available on September 3rd.
  • Complete the following subplots:
    • Mourning Rise – begins with “From Before I Depart” by Korgran on the Isle of Dorn and ends with “The Weight of Duty”.
    • Broken Tools – starts with “Discarded and Broken” by Machinist Kitten in the Ringing Deeps and ends with “Reforged Purpose”.
    • Merrix and Steelvein – starts with How Scandalous! by Aldra in Dornoga and ends with Bad Business.


Although the Earthen received a mixed reception when they were first announced, especially as a Horde race, many players have started to warm to the new allied race. This is due in no small part to the fantastic world design of The war withinfans will experience as they complete the unlock requirements – not to mention the enchanting new dances they bring with them World of Warcraft.

However, some players aren’t happy that they have to wait even longer to create an Earthen. The new allied race was originally listed as an early access perk, so its release nearly two weeks later disappointed fans who had hoped to create one sooner. At least while they wait, players can complete all the other requirements so they can be among the first Earthen to emerge from the Awakening Machine in World of Warcraft.
