World Judo Day 2024 – WELLBEING / IJF.org

Every year, the International Judo Federation and the judo community celebrate World Judo Day on October 28th. This day has great significance for all judo fans around the world because it is the birthday of the founder of judo, Jigoro Kano Shihan. For each edition, a theme is chosen to illustrate the values of judo. This theme is intended to be used as a powerful tool to increase the visibility of the sport inside and outside the judo family. In 2024, the theme is: WELL-BEING.

Well-being is not just the absence of disease or illness. It is a complex combination of a person’s physical, mental, emotional and social health factors. Well-being is closely linked to happiness and life satisfaction. In short, well-being can be described as how you feel about yourself and your life.

To further expand the theme of wellbeing for World Judo Day, Continental Confederations, National Federations, Clubs and every single judoka on the planet can implement a series of actions that address different aspects of health and wellbeing from a physical, mental and emotional perspective.

As we move towards World Judo Day 2024, we are developing ways for you to get involved in the event. We are providing ideas on PHYSICAL WELL-BEING, MENTAL WELL-BEING, EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING, HOLISTIC WELL-BEING and SOCIAL WELL-BEING and explaining how you can get involved in each of these topics.

Stay connected and take care of your own wellbeing in the meantime.
