Why Good American Parachute Pants Are Worth It

Why Good American Parachute Pants Are Worth It

Over the past two years, I’ve leaned heavily into wide-leg, oversized pants. While this style of pants is typically difficult for plus-size women to find, I’ve amassed quite a collection of cool oversized pants that I can’t and won’t stop wearing.

My absolute favorites are the Good American Parachute Pants. I love them so much that I own them in multiple colors, have packed them for every trip (including my long trip to Asia), and find myself reaching for them more often than I’d like to admit. They are the perfect oversized pant that is breathable, easy to pack for any trip, and gives that effortless cool-girl look that I love so much.

Sizing notes: I wear a size 7 in these pants, which is pretty TTS for an oversized fit. If you’re between sizes, I’d probably go down a size – as the fit is still looser.

It’s worth it: Parachute pants from Good American

If I’m being completely honest, I have a love/hate relationship with Good American. While I love that they offer extended sizing across their entire clothing line, the sizing is way off for me, so I return more things than I keep. But these pants?! They’re gold! They’re a true gem and my favorite pair of pants (so much so that I’m considering buying a second pair of each of my favorite colors as backups).

First things first, Good American’s parachute pants are full of clever details that make them versatile and easy to wear, no matter what your body type. Made from 100% cotton, they’re incredibly lightweight and breathable. I often find that oversized pants, especially parachute pants, feel shapeless, but these are cut to drape perfectly over my body.

I personally love that both the waist and ankles have drawstrings so I can choose if I want a higher waist or if I want to create that ultra low waist look and have my bikini bottoms show through (and yes, I’ve worn these as a cover-up too). The drawstrings at the ankles give me the option to have a wide leg look or cinch them tighter for that more exaggerated parachute look.

These pants come in a gorgeous bright pink (which I actually own), the prettiest neutral green (which I’m wearing right now), and white. Spoiler alert – I bought the white one before and wasn’t as keen on it as the other colors I own. The white tends to be a little more sheer and when I tried it on, it just didn’t feel as cool as the other colorways. GA recently released these same pants in a camo colorway that I haven’t gotten my hands on yet, but when I get it, I’ll be sure to post about it!

I really love the GA parachute pants and highly recommend them. They are just so damn good!
