Sam Thompson from ‘Made in Chelsea’ has officially been crowned King of the Jungle. He was voted the winner of this year’s ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ on Sunday evening (December 10), beating former boxer Tony Bellew and former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) and Brexit Party Nigel Farage.
The three finalists were among the twelve celebrities who went into the Australian jungle three weeks ago for the ITV reality show.
Thompson said he was “really overwhelmed” by his victory. “I didn’t think I would even be invited to this show, let alone sitting here (on the winner’s throne),” he said.
“I’m so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve dreamed of being on this show and being invited to do it for years and you just made a boy’s dream come true.”
Thompson’s exuberant personality elicited mixed reactions from viewers.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) said he was “the loudest and most annoying (camping buddy).”
But Dominic wrote on the social media platform: “I don’t think anyone has ever carried a show on their shoulders like Sam Thompson did on this year’s #ImACeleb – you could argue he’s the best contestant they’ve ever had.”
He had previously said during the finale on Sunday that taking part in the show was “like a dream that I definitely don’t want to wake up from.”
“I’ve had the best time and I’m the luckiest man in the world,” he told presenters Ant and Dec.

Who is Sam Thompson?
The 31-year-old London-born star made a name for himself as a regular on E4’s Made in Chelsea, where he appeared from 2013 to 2021. His sister Louise also appeared on the show.
He has also appeared on reality shows such as Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Ghost Hunt, Celebrity Go Dating, The Celebrity Circle and Celebrity Fifteen to One.
He is also the host of Love Island: Aftersun – the reality show that made his girlfriend Zara McDermott famous. The couple have been together since 2019 and their relationship has survived an infamous cheating scandal.
This autumn, McDermott took part in Strictly Come Dancing (a show Thompson has not competed in… yet) before being eliminated in October. “I think I’m more nervous than Zara,” he admitted in September ahead of her appearance on the BBC One show. “I don’t do it, but you just want someone to do well so much that I’m almost more nervous.”
Thompson has been hosting a show on Greatest Hits Radio since last year. In early 2023 He hosted a documentary about his experiences with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) on E4Thompson was the bookies’ second favourite to win I’m a Celebrity behind This Morning presenter and 2010 Big Brother winner Josie Gibson.
However, on Saturday she was voted out of the show, leaving Thompson, Bellew and Farage in the final three.
