Arron Mosby went into the Green Bay Packers’ final preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens as an underdog and had a good chance of being included in the 53-man roster.
But did the defensive end earn a coveted spot with his outstanding performance on Saturday?
Mosby certainly played like a player who is doing everything he can to make that happen. He was a beast on the field on two consecutive possessions in the second quarter. First he had a strip sack that led to a scoop and a score. Then he had an interception on the Ravens’ next drive. Two plays, two highlights.
Mosby led a defense that recorded four turnovers in the team’s 30-7 victory in front of the home fans at Lambeau Field.
The preseason is all about opportunities, and with head coach Matt LaFleur opting to bench all of the team’s starters once again, players like Mosby get a chance to prove themselves and make an impact. He certainly did that.

Mosby is a third-year professional at Fresno State University who has spent most of his career on practice squads.
After going undrafted in 2022, the Carolina Panthers signed Mosby as a rookie free agent. He was released after training camp, but the Panthers signed him to the practice squad. They activated him for two games at the beginning of the season, where he played only on special teams. This is his second training camp with the Packers. He was released by the Packers at the end of camp last year before being signed to the practice squad.
In early January, Mosby signed a one-year reserve/futures contract with the Packers.

He has yet to record defensive stats in an NFL game. He played snaps on special teams in one Week 2 game for the Panthers during the 2022 season, but he spent much of that season on the Panthers’ practice squad.

Mosby spent five years at Fresno State (2017-21).
As a fifth-year senior in 2021, he earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors. He had 40 tackles, six sacks and 15.5 tackles for a loss, the most on his team. His 3.5 tackles for a loss at Oregon were the fourth-most in a game by a Fresno State player in 21 years.
He led all of college football in forced turnovers with six and tied for the most by a Fresno State player in history.
