Where is Kelly Monaco? Another temporary recast of Sam

Here we go again! Again today, General Hospital has swapped out Sam McCall and replaced regular actress Kelly Monaco with someone who is now very familiar to viewers of the ABC soaps: Lindsay Hartley. After all, this is the fourth time in recent years that she has played Sam.

But as with her first appearances, this doesn’t mean that Sam’s role has been permanently recast. Often it’s just an illness that requires a quick recast for a day or two while the actor recovers. That was the case the last time Hartley played Sam.

The former Passions And Time of longing The actress first took on the role of Monaco in 2020 and then again in February 2023. She was last seen earlier this year when Scout was stressed about school and Sam was about to argue with Drew about pushing their child to go to Westwood.

While Hartley’s previous appearances have mostly been for episodes lasting around a week each, the last time she was there she was only on for a single episode. However, it is currently unknown how long she will stay or if today was the only episode she filmed.

Of course, at this point Hartley almost feels like a regular on General Hospitalthat we feel like there has to be a way to keep her around forever! Of course, that doesn’t mean seeing her as Sam (unless Monaco decides to permanently retire from the show), but there are plenty of other roles she could take on to stay in Port Charles! In fact, we already have the perfect role in mind here!
