Your unit probably has the next few months planned. If you need help organizing your adventures and want to be informed about upcoming Scout events, you can download and use this printable planner, courtesy of Scouting life Magazine.

Your plans should include Scouting life about your unit’s adventures. The official youth magazine of Scouting America is full of fun, exciting stories, hilarious jokes and comics, and useful tips to help your Scout succeed in Scouting and be prepared for life.

Scouting life highlights the amazing trips the units take – from 50-mile mountain hikes to whitewater kayaking.

“But my unit doesn’t do anything that great,” you say.

Oh, we disagree.

A trip to a local park or museum can also be a lot of fun. Close to home, you can find great experiences that your Scout will remember for the rest of his life. Scouting life These trips are also highlighted because they show that adventure can be found anywhere and inspire units to get out there and have those adventures. In recent issues, the magazine has featured Cub Scouts sleeping under a space shuttle, a troop taking off at a fighter aircraft museum, and troops visiting a gold mine for a day.

Scouting life includes outings by Cub Scout groups, Scouts BSA troops, Sea Scout ships, Explorer posts and Venturing crews. You can send your upcoming outing to the magazine or share details of a recent trip.

Sometimes a professional photographer may accompany your unit to document the adventure for the magazine, but this is not always the case. Scouting life can give you and your young people some tips on how to take and submit your own photos.

What else can you submit?

Scouts can participate in many areas of the magazine, including the Readers’ Page, Aerie on the Prairie, SL HeadlinerCollecting, Hobby Hows, and Think & Grin. Not only can they see their name in print, but they can also receive an official contributor patch if their content is selected for publication.

You can also encourage your Scout to submit a letter for the Communication Achievement Badge or submit photos of his Pinewood Derby car.

Scouts can also ask for advice in the “Ask Us Anything” and “Ask the Gear Guy” columns.
