As Epic Games prepares for the release of Season 4, another Fortnite downtime is coming. Considering every major update requires server outages, this is no surprise. However, we expect a longer downtime this time around, simply because the update will be massive and require more preparation.

In this article, we’ll look at when the next Fortnite downtime begins in each region. Once it begins, you’ll no longer be able to access the game, so make sure you complete all quests and unlock Battle Pass rewards before the servers go down.

When does the Fortnite downtime start?

The next Fortnite downtime will begin shortly before the release of Chapter 5, Season 4. In Eastern Time, it will begin at 11 p.m., which you can see on the Battle Pass screen. Additionally, it’s important to note that Epic Games will disable matchmaking 15 to 30 minutes before the server goes down. This means you won’t be able to start a new match, but you can finish an ongoing match.

On Wednesday evening, Epic officially confirmed the date and time of the next Fortnite downtime. As previously announced, it will begin in the United States and South America on Thursday evening, but if you want to know when it begins in your region, we have everything you need to know.
