Health tips for the start of school
With the return to face-to-face teaching, colds and other unwanted illnesses are also returning. Here are some tips on how to stay healthy.

The end of summer 2024 is upon us, and public school students across Pueblo County have less than three weeks before school begins again.
Pueblo County School District 70 students will return in the second and third weeks of August, while most Pueblo County School District 60 students will return in the fourth week of August. However, most Pueblo County D70 schools will finish their school year in the last week of May 2025, while most Pueblo County D60 students will finish in the first week of June, according to the approved Pueblo County D60 and Pueblo County D70 calendars.
Preschoolers in both districts follow a slightly different schedule than students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Here are the important dates for the 2024-25 school year:
Pueblo D70 elementary students will begin their first day of school on Thursday, August 8, which is also a “transition day” for sixth and ninth grade students. Other Pueblo D70 students, including preschoolers, will begin their first day of school on Monday, August 12.
In Pueblo D60, classes for K-12 students begin on Tuesday, August 20, following an assessment and transition day on August 19. Monday, August 26, is the first day of school for Pueblo D60’s preschool students.
May 22, 2025, is the last day of school for Pueblo D70 preschoolers. Pueblo D60 preschoolers and Pueblo D70 students in grades K-12 will finish their school year on May 29. Pueblo D60 students in grades K-12 will have their last day of school on June 5.
