The WNBA is coming to Boston.

The Connecticut Sun will play the Los Angeles Sparks at TD Garden on Tuesday at 7 p.m. It will be the first time the Sun have played a regular season game there.

On Friday, the Sun reported that the game was sold out, but verified resale tickets were available on Ticketmaster.com.

The 19,156 tickets sold mark the third-highest attendance at a WNBA game this season and the most tickets sold for a Sun game in franchise history.

“We are thrilled with the response our game at TD Garden has received in the Boston market,” Sun President Jen Rizzotti said in a statement. “It is truly special to make history by hosting the first professional women’s basketball game in this arena known for its incredible basketball quality and championship culture.”

“This is a great opportunity to promote the Connecticut Sun brand by playing a game that is more central to our fans in New England. Women’s sports are here to stay and this is a wonderful celebration and validation of that fact.”

The Sun enter the weekend with the second-best record in the league at 18-6. DeWanna Bonner, a five-time All-Star, is the team’s leading scorer with 16.7 points per game. All-WNBA Alyssa Thomas, who won a gold medal with Team USA in Paris, averages 11.4 points and is the team’s leading rebounder (9.2) and assists (7.6).
