What channel is the Eagles-Vikings game on today? Start time, commentators and more

This is one of those moments where it doesn’t hurt to look (slightly) ahead. We can say that a regular season game that will impact the overall record is coming up. It’s taking place in Brazil and since the NFL is obsessed with expanding its global reach, it’s taken on a Super Bowl feel.

Don’t get us wrong. We understand the approach of taking it one game at a time. We understand that. Nothing happens until we win that last preseason game. That one is important too, but it’s hard not to be excited.

As we split our attention between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, everyone is aware of the schedule. One more preseason game, one last look at the back half of the lineup, reducing the roster to 53 men (and a practice squad).

After two road games to start the preseason, the Philadelphia Eagles return home to face the Minnesota Vikings in the finale. Watch this game on NFL Plus if you’re a premium subscriber and on NBC10 in Philly if you’re watching the game locally.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST at Lincoln Financial Field. This game will draw some spectators.

The regular players will not play. That has been the business model all summer. We expect to see longer glimpses of the reserves and the guys hoping to make one last positive impression on the coaching staff and catapult themselves into the squad.

And one more thing worth noting. We expect to see Cooper DeJean, a second-round draft pick, on the field for the first time. He missed the first two games and most of training camp while recovering from a hamstring injury.

If you’re following the game, you’ll hear Scott Graham doing the commentary. Ross Tucker will join him in the dressing room and serve as color commentator. Dave Spadaro will be working the sidelines.

The game can also be heard on the radio if you live in the coverage area by tuning to 94 WIP-FM. Merrill Reese (live commentary), Mike Quick (analyst) and Howard Eskin (sideline) will be providing commentary as always. You can also hear them on SiriusXM by tuning to channel 228.

Although this game will not be counted as a regular season win or loss, these two proud franchises know each other very well. In the past, the Eagles and Vikings have met 31 times to play a football game. Four of those meetings have come in the postseason. Philly has won each of those games and leads the overall record by one win, with the Eagles holding the edge by a score of 16-15.

Randall Cunningham once played for the Vikes. That’s still hard to believe sometimes. He once led them to within one game of the Super Bowl. Again, the stakes won’t be high, but don’t tell that to the players participating. If you’re asked to play in that game, you should do your best. A spot on the roster could be the reward.
