Schedule & Results

The first game of the Super Round will pit Puerto Rico against Nicaragua at Edgar Renteria Stadium. With both teams tied at 1-1, the winner of this game will be in a great position to fight for a spot in the medal games. This will be the first time in the history of this tournament that they will face each other. Adniel Quiles and Anthony Badillo have led the way for Puerto Rico, posting a batting average of .563 in the opening round. For Nicaragua, Luis Garcia will open the Super Round with a .538 average, making him the team’s best hitter. First pitch is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

The 3 p.m. match will see a rematch of the rivalry between Japan and Chinese Taipei. Japan, which posted a .305 team batting average in the opening round, is the only undefeated team in the Super Round at 2-0, and a win in this match would open the door for them to the medal games. Chinese Taipei, whose team batting average is .328, needs a win to stay in the running for a spot in the World Championship match. The last time they met in this event was in 2022, also on the first day of the Super Round. Chinese Taipei defeated Japan 6-4.

In the final game in Barranquilla, Colombia will face Mexico. Led by Adner Elorriaga, the tournament’s best hitter with a batting average of .636, the hosts have two consecutive wins and are looking to carry their momentum into the Super Round. Mexico secured its ticket in the final game of the opening round thanks to a great performance by Diego Serna, who leads the tournament with 12 strikeouts.

In the placement round, Guam will play South Africa at 10:30 a.m.; the Netherlands and Italy will face each other at 3:00 p.m.; and the Dominican Republic and Venezuela will end the day at 7:00 p.m. All matches will be played at the 11 de Noviembre Stadium in Cartagena de Indias.
