Ahead of the film’s worldwide release on December 7, Netflix has released the new trailer for Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, which you can now watch above.

Directed by Andy Serkis, the live-action and CGI retelling of Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book” will be released in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London on November 29, with a wider release in the US and UK to follow. Originally planned for release by Warner Bros. in 2016 under the title “Jungle Book: Origins,” Netflix acquired worldwide rights in July.

At CinemaCon in April, Serkis promised a darker, bloodier story that delves deeper into the conflict between man and nature that is at the heart of the famous story.

In “Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle,” Rohan Chand plays the title role, Christian Bale is Bagheera, Cate Blanchett is Kaa, Benedict Cumberbatch is Shere Khan, Naomie Harris is Nisha, and Serkis is Baloo. Matthew Rhys and Freida Pinto also star.

Callie Kloves wrote the screenplay based on Kipling’s story. Producers on the project include Jonathan Cavendish, Steve Kloves and Serkis.

Earlier this year, Netflix acquired the third film in the “Cloverfield” series, which turned out to be “God Particle,” from Paramount. The streaming service also acquired the worldwide rights to “Shaft” from New Line Cinema and the foreign rights to Natalie Portman’s “Annihilation.”
