(WATCH) Machine Gun Kelly: Most ‘stigma’ against white rappers comes from white fans

In a recent interview at Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE Cleveland-born rapper Machine Gun Kelly says in a podcast that the criticism he receives as a white rapper comes from white hip-hop fans and not from black hip-hop fans, as was once believed.

“I won’t deny that there is a subconscious stigma about being white in hip hop,” he said following co-host Mike Majlak’s comments on the criticism faced by the majority of white rappers. “It’s so funny to me because the streets are so tough on me. Honestly, it’s the other white people who give me the most trouble.”

He admits that one of his biggest enemies, Eminem, was the only white rapper to “transcend race” on the microphone. The crazy thing is there was only one person who did that. There was only one person who did that and crossed the line of ‘we accept it.'”
