Watch Kelly Ayotte (R) admit she would gerrymander New Hampshire's district.

Remember former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R. NH) who said, “I support Trump, but I will not endorse him”? Former governor and current U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D. NH) succeeded her in 2016. Now she’s back and running for governor. I haven’t mentioned this race yet because the primary isn’t until September 10. Well, thanks to The Downballot (formerly DKE), I’ve decided to sound the alarm on this:

Kelly Ayotte, the likely Republican candidate for governor of New Hampshire, suggests that if she wins, she would sign a new congressional gerrymandering bill.

While outgoing Governor Chris Sununu blocked his party’s gerrymandering in Congress after 2020, he signed legislative gerrymandering that allowed Republicans to win the majority in 2022 with fewer votes than Democrats.

These district manipulations could prevent Democrats from capturing one or both chambers this year
