Virgin Media Gamepad – the ultimate free-to-play gaming destination at the O2 Arena in London – has today announced that it will be welcoming its first-ever Fortnite Battle Royale takeover in partnership with Epic Games in honour of the release of Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom. The takeover will see Gamepad transformed into a real-life Castle Doom and host a series of Doctor Doom-themed live stream events, competitions and giveaways.

In the newly launched Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom, the legendary Battle Royale brings together some of MARVEL’s greatest Super Heroes and Villains, including Gwenpool, Shuri, Mysterio, and the insane Doctor Doom. Harnessing the ancient power of Pandora’s Box, Doctor Doom has transplanted his Latvarian empire to the Battle Royale island and established himself there with his army of loyal henchmen. Whether heroic or villainous, players are tasked with exploring the island’s new secrets. Doctor Doom and his lieutenants must be defeated – no matter the cost.

Dress up and discover new secrets on the island with your friends on the Virgin Media Gamepad

Virgin Media Gamepad is urging gamers to gather their friends, gear up and dive into Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom. Players can explore the island for free in one of 16 gaming pods equipped with Xbox Series X consoles and powered by Virgin Media’s gigabit broadband – all in the gothic setting of a real-life Castle Doom.

O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers can also book games at The Cave – Gamepad’s VIP gaming lounge – via the Priority app.

Tune in to livestream events featuring Miniminter, Talia Mar and more

The opening weekend will see a very special livestream event at Virgin Media Gamepad, where gamers like Miniminter and Talia Mar will challenge their communities and gamers to a round of Battle Royale in Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom live from The Stage – Gamepad’s state-of-the-art streaming studio – on their channels. The exclusive event will be open to O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers who have won a prize draw on Priority Tickets. The rest of the world is invited to join the event on Miniminter’s Twitch channel from 8pm on Saturday 24th August and take part in live prize draws with prizes up for grabs, including an Xbox Series X console.

The Fortnite and MARVEL fun doesn’t end there though. O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers can enter to win Xbox Series S consoles, a MARVEL Black Panther gaming chair from X Rocker and Fortnite goodies via the Priority app.

Additionally, all players, regardless of their provider, can enter an ongoing competition on Virgin Media Gamepad to win Fortnite merchandise, as well as sign up for the exclusive last-minute events and competitions where the winner will receive further exclusive Fortnite and MARVEL prizes.

To celebrate the arrival of Doom’s Castle at the O2 Arena, Doctor Doom’s iconic throne will take pride of place at the arena’s entrance during opening weekend, set against a stunning backdrop of stained glass windows. Aspiring rulers are invited to take a selfie and reflect on their power on the throne before heading to the gamepad to take on Doctor Doom in a game of Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom. Doctor Doom’s throne will only be at the O2 Arena over the August Bank Holiday weekend, August 23-26.
