This is an anniversary year for acclaimed Mesa-based alternative rock band Jimmy Eat World.

The rockers are preparing for the 20th anniversary of their gold-certified fifth studio album “Futures” and the fifth anniversary of their tenth studio album “Surviving”.

Jimmy Eat World’s only hometown show of 2024 will see the band perform “Futures” in full on Thursday, October 17th at the Van Buren in downtown Phoenix. Tickets for this one-off event go on sale Friday, August 16th at 10am on LiveNation.com. Tickets for all tour dates can be found on JimmyEatWorld.com.

“It’s incredible to us that our album ‘Futures’ is almost 20 years old. Making ‘Futures’ was one of the most difficult but also most rewarding accomplishments of our time as a band. We are honored that many of you have found something in these songs that you have connected with over the years,” the band said in a press release. “To show our appreciation, we want to play this album from start to finish for our hometown fans at The Van Buren in Phoenix.”

The Arizona quartet has released Futures: Phoenix Sessions (Chapter V) and Surviving: Phoenix Sessions (Chapter X) on vinyl for the first time. The albums were produced by Jimmy Eat World himself and mixed by Jim Adkins. Both will be available this fall through the band’s Exotic Location Recordings label.

Both limited edition releases were recorded live as part of their 2021 “Phoenix Sessions,” a partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents as part of a global streaming performance series filmed at the Icehouse in Phoenix.
