Vail Resorts Announces Winter 24/25 Season Opening Dates and Labor Day Epic Pass Deadline Details

Skiers and snowboarders can leave their equipment at home this season and try out the My Epic Gear membership: Premium equipment available directly at the edge of the slopes

Skiers and snowboarders who start planning now will secure the best deals and experiences when visiting famous mountain resorts like Vail Mountain, BreckenridgePark City Mountain, Whistler Blackcomb and more.

Here is Vail Resorts’ checklist to start preparing now for the 2024/25 ski and snowboard season:

√ Dream about when and where you will go
The season begins in October at Keystone Resort. Other resorts in the Rockies and the West will open soon after. Additional resort opening dates will be announced closer to the start of the winter season.

  • Mid-October (depending on conditions at the beginning of the season): Keystone (Center)
  • 8 November: Breckenridge (Center)
  • November 15: Vail Mountain (CO)
  • November 22: Whistler Blackcomb (British Columbia), Heavenly (California), Northstar (California), Park City Mountain (Utah)
  • 27 November: Beaver Creek (CO), Crested Butte (Center)
  • December 6: Kirkwood (CA), Stevens Pass (WA)

Navigating our mountain resorts will be smoother than ever as Vail Resorts continues to invest in the guest experience. Whistler Blackcomb and Hunter Mountain (NY) will both receive new lifts to increase uphill capacity and better distribute guests across the mountain.

√ Save on your entire trip with an Epic Pass
Skiers and snowboarders have until September 2 to purchase an Epic Pass before prices go up. Epic Passes offer significant savings over lift ticket prices in the run-up to the season, and whether you’re looking to ski or snowboard for just one day or the entire season, there’s a pass option for everyone.

  • Epic Pass (1,004 US dollars) offers unlimited, unrestricted access to world-class mountain resorts such as Vail Mountain, BreckenridgeWhistler Blackcomb, Park City Mountain, Heavenly, Northstar and Stowe. Take your Epic Pass abroad to visit Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis and Crans-Montana Mountain Resort in the Swiss Alps. With additional partner resorts like Telluride in Colorado and Hakuba Valley in JapanThe Epic Pass provides access to more than 80 resorts worldwide.
  • Epic Local Pass ($746) offers unlimited, unrestricted access to 29 resorts, including Breckenridge, Keystone And Crested Butte. Epic Local Pass holders also receive season-long access to Park City Mountain, Heavenly, Northstar and more, in addition to 10 combined days of access to Vail Mountain, Whistler Blackcomb and Beaver Creekexcept limited peak times.
  • Epic Day Ticket (as low as $4495$ per day) offers skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to create their own pass – with the choice of 1-7 days throughout the season. Epic Day Passes offer up to 65% Savings compared to lift ticket prices. Skiing and snowboarding for only 95$ per day at resorts like Vail Mountain, and as low as 73 $ per day in resorts like KeystoneHeavenly and Stowe.
  • Special passes are available, including active and retired military personnel and their dependents (177 US dollars), veterans and their families (573 $), University ($675) and Adaptive Passes (492 $), which offer discounted access to 42 resorts.

Epic Passes also offer savings on other parts of the resort experience. The passes include Epic Mountain Rewardsthat offer exclusive discounts, including 20% Discounts on on-mountain food and drinks, lodging, group ski and snowboard lessons, equipment rentals and more – all winter long.

√ Get access to premium equipment, available on the slopes, for only 50$ with My Epic Gear
Travelers no longer have to buy and transport their equipment to and from ski resorts, with the introduction of My epic equipmenta unique membership that combines the luxury of owning high-quality equipment with the convenience of premium valet parking. Members get access to over 60 of the latest ski and snowboard models from 13 leading brands. The entire membership experience, from equipment selection to free daily pickup and drop-off at the slopes, is available in the My Epic app.

Memberships are limited for the 2024/25 winter season and are available on a first come, first served basis. My Epic Gear is available for the whole family (ages 3 and up) at Vail Mountain, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City Mountain. Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested ButteHeavenly, Northstar, Stowe, Okemo and Mount Snow. Memberships cost 50$ for the 2024/25 season with a 55$ Daily use fee for adults and 45$ for children (3-12).

√ Book accommodation now for up to 35% on room rates
Skiers and snowboarders who purchase an Epic Pass now will receive early access to Vail Resorts’ Winter holiday offerthat offer discounted rates at hotels and vacation rentals in mountain resorts for a limited time. With Epic Mountain Rewards, passholders can earn up to 35% on room ratesPassholders will be able to book preferred accommodations starting August 22 by logging into their Epic Pass account and selecting the sale. Public access will be available online from August 27 to September 3.

√ Skip the ticket line and download the My Epic app with Mobile Pass
Download and use the new My Epic app Mobile Pass this winter. Guests can purchase their pass online, activate and save it in the My Epic app, and scan their phone at the lifts hands-free using low-energy Bluetooth.® Technology. Mobile Pass and Mobile Lift Tickets will be available at Vail Resorts’ 37 North American resorts, including Whistler Blackcomb, during the 2024/25 season.

The My Epic app also features enhanced stat tracking, Find a Friend feature, and interactive trail maps. And with Buddy and Ski With a Friend tickets available in the app, your guests can skip the ticket line and head straight to the lift with you.

And new this winter: guests from four Colorado Resorts can also access My epic assistant in the My Epic app. My Epic Assistant combines the power of AI with resort experts to provide a convenient tool to ask questions about Vail Mountain anytime, anywhere, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge And KeystoneVail Resorts plans to expand My Epic Assistant to additional resorts in future seasons.
