UP racers battle it out on day two of the Rumble | News, Sports, Jobs

BARK RIVER – The second day of the 2024 Off Road Rumble in the UP offered plenty of intrigue and drama on Saturday at Bark River International Raceway.

After winning the Sportsman SxS class on Friday, Zack Wirhanowicz from Bark River wanted to repeat his success in front of his home crowd. He made it onto the podium but had to settle for third place.

He wasn’t the only UP driver in the Sportsman SxS field. Carter Krook of Ishpeming finished 10th, Connor LaCasse of Escanaba 16th, Danielle Reeves of Baraga 19th and Bryce Carlson of Gladstone 20th.

Jersey Kleikamp of Wilson finished third in the 170 SxS class. Lainey Gearhart of Menominee finished 15th and Weston Brunk of Baraga finished 18th.

In the 1600 Light Buggy class, Adam Heikkila of Marquette finished 16th and Allison Wandahsega of Bark River finished 18th. In the Youth SxS, Keegan Gearhart of Menominee finished ninth.

Four UP drivers competed in the 1600 Single Buggy class. James Thompson of Gwinn finished third, Menominee drivers Jeff Sakovitz and Lance Gearhart finished 15th and 16th, respectively, and Kendra Hayward finished 19th.

Two UP drivers finished in the top 10 in the Stock Truck class. Zachary Wennesheimer of Rapid River finished eighth and Kyle Jenshak of Wilson finished 10th.

A trio of UP drivers finished in the top six in the Super Stock Truck class. Braden Beauchamp of Gladstone was third, Scott Heikkila of Marquette was fifth and Brad Barglind of Kingsford was sixth.

In the Pro Am SxS race, Paige Wirhanowicz of Bark River finished 16th and Benjamin Heiting, also of Bark River, finished 22nd.

In the Pro Lite class, two UP riders battled it out. Felch’s Antonio Inglese and Champion’s Matt Wood finished seventh and eighth respectively. In the Pro Spec class, Felch’s Porter Inglese finished seventh.
