Tyler Childers’ drone show in Missoula on Saturday night was epic

If you were in Missoula last Saturday, you may have seen a large group of illuminated drones in the shape of a chicken, a horse, a planet, a hot dog, an atom-like thing, leaves, snowflakes and a number of other cool-looking shapes rise into the sky. No, it wasn’t an alien invasion. No, it wasn’t 5G signals trying to control your brainwaves. It was allegedly the first ever drone show at a country music concert.

Tyler Childers rocked Washington Grizzly Stadium with an incredible musical performance and outstanding drone show. During his performance, Childers mentioned that it was the first drone show at a country music concert. Let me make it clear to everyone: I have no idea if that claim is true. It seems like there was a drone show at a country music concert before Saturday night, but who am I to question the great Tyler Childers?

Here is another angle of the Childers drone show. This shot was taken from Waterworks Hill (or somewhere nearby) by a person outside the show. It’s an amazing vantage point, but the music you hear in the video is lighting by Ellie Goulding and Blinding lights by The Weeknd. Just in case you’re watching and thinking, “Wait, Tyler Childers sang those songs?”

A huge thank you to Tyler Childers and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats for a killer show on Saturday night. It was incredible and I would be remiss if I forgot to thank all of the university staff who helped coordinate the show.
