Kelly Macdonald has said that filming the Trainspotting sequel was a far more sober experience than the original, when people on set were “still drunk”.

The actress made her debut in the 1996 film and reprised the role of the sequel in 2017, in which she says everything is completely different.

She told Radio Times magazine: “Seeing all those old faces again and learning about their development as actors and characters was really touching.”

“Everyone was super fit and healthy.

“Jonny (Lee Miller) and Ewan (McGregor) walked up Arthur’s Seat almost every day during filming.

“It was completely different from filming the first one!

“The hangovers on set didn’t matter, people were still drunk.”

Macdonald, 43, also announced that her contract now includes an anti-nudity clause.

“Generally speaking, if you see a piece (of meat), it’s not me,” she said.

“I’m just getting to the age where… I used to not care about being photographed or this whole nudity thing.

“You would expect that the more you do them, the easier they would become.

“But that’s not my experience.”

“It just depends on the job and trust,” she added. “That’s what it’s about. But if I’m honest, it doesn’t happen that often anymore.”

This week’s Radio Times appears on Tuesday.
