We have our first trailer for the anime film, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrimand it creates a gripping story in the world created by JRR Tolkien, in which two young leaders who grew up as friends become enemies after the father of one kills the other.
Here is the official summary:
The action takes place 183 years before the events of the original film trilogy. The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim tells the story of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan. A sudden attack by Wulf, a cunning and ruthless Dunlending lord who seeks to avenge his father’s death, forces Helm and his people to a daring last stand in the ancient fortress of Hornburg – a mighty fortress that would later become known as Helm’s Deep. They find themselves in an increasingly desperate situation and Héra, daughter of Helm, must muster the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy who seeks her total destruction.
The cast includes Brian Cox (Consequence) as Helm Hammerhand, the mighty King of Rohan; Gaia Wise (A walk in the forest) as his daughter Héra; and Luke Pasqualino (Snowpiercer) as Wulf. Miranda Otto, who played Éowyn in The two towers, takes on her role as narrator of the story again.
Other cast members include Lorraine Ashbourne (Bridgerton), Yazdan Qafouri (I passed by), Benjamin Wainwright (World in flames), Laurence Ubong Williams (Goal), Shaun Dooley (The Sorcerer), Michael Wildman (Hobbs & Shaw), Jude Akuwudike (Beasts without a nation), Bilal Hasna (Spark) and Janine Duvitski (The hotel is located in Benidorm, just a 10-minute walk from the beach.).
The anime is directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Blade Runner: Black Lotus) and will premiere in theaters on December 13, 2024.
