The NYT Mini is a quick and easy version of the newspaper’s longer-running crossword. Most days there are between three and five clues in each direction on a 5×5 grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

In contrast to its bigger brother, the NYT Mini The crossword puzzle is free to play on the New York Times website or the NYT Games app, but you will need a NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

To avoid getting stuck and having to look up missing letters, here is the NYT Mini Crossword answers for Monday, August 12 (Of course there are spoilers):

It has me 0:43 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

I missed the plant world (although I had Connections clues) and Kamala Harris clues on my first pass through the horizontal words. FAKE was the only one I didn’t get on my first pass at the Downs, so I was able to use the remaining letters to get 5 and 7 horizontal.
