This Fall at Union Depot: Story Line Books

There is a new tenant at the Union Depot in town. Set to open this fall, the aptly named Story Line Books will offer an oasis of fiction and children’s literature that will delight readers of all kinds.

The store marks a new beginning for owner Danielle Miller, who gave up her successful career as a lawyer to pursue another dream. “I have spent the last eight years in a profession that drained my mind and soul,” Miller says in a press release. “I can’t believe I get the opportunity to spend my days surrounded by books and other people who love them!”

When it came to choosing a permanent location for Story Line Books, Miller’s decision was no accident. “When I first started the process of moving to Minnesota, I dreamed of having a store in St. Paul because it’s such a city of readers,” she says in the press release. “The first available place I found to rent was this one. It felt like the universe was telling me to go for it. It’s the right size, the right atmosphere, and the right people. Working with Union Depot management has been incredible so far, and I feel like I’m joining a team and not traveling into the great unknown all alone.”

Story Line Books will be located in the Head House of Union Depot, between Choo Choo Bob’s Train Store and the recently opened 1881 by Lake Elmo Inn. The store will be open daily and will offer a wide variety of genres, with a more curated selection of fiction and children’s books. Miller also makes it a point to build community through a variety of events in the store, including author readings, book signings and monthly book clubs.

“Story Line Books is the perfect addition to our vibrant tenant mix and we can’t wait to welcome them to Union Depot,” says Lindsay Boyd, general manager of Union Depot, in the press release. “Their focus on fiction and children’s literature, combined with their community-focused events, will greatly enhance our space.”
