The Grand Stade Hassan II, a huge sports stadium currently under construction in Casablanca, Moroccothe concept of a modern stadium. The stadium’s design is inspired by the traditional Moroccan social gatherings known as “Moussem” and includes a large tent Roof that dominates the wooded landscape. This sculptural architectural element not only provides shelter for the 115,000-capacity crowd, but also creates a sense of community and togetherness. The roof is made of a unique aluminum lattice. A ring of 32 staircases supports the roof and bowl, forming grand entrances framed by lush gardens set on 28-meter-high platforms.
