Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for its upcoming epic Middle-earth anime film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrimand it looks pretty awesome! If you’re an anime fan, you’ll definitely like this.

I’m very excited about this project and it looks like it will tell a great story and provide an exciting cinematic experience for Middle Earth fans.

Set 183 years before the events recorded in the original film trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim tells the “fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan.”

“A sudden attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord bent on avenging his father’s death, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand at the ancient fortress of Hornburg – a mighty fortress that would later become known as Helm’s Deep.

“Faced with the situation becoming increasingly desperate, Héra, daughter of Helm, must summon all her will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy intent on her utter destruction.

New Line Cinema’s original anime “The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim” comes from award-winning filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama (Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex TV series).

Screenwriter Philippa Boyenswho wrote Peter Jackson’s live-action films, said: “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim works for anime because it’s character-driven and trapped in its own world, two things that work beautifully with Japanese storytelling, and there’s no better storyteller in that medium than Kenji Kamiyama.”

The rest of the voice cast includes Brian Cox as Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan, Gaia Wise as Hera of Rohan, Lukas Pasqualino as Wolf, Lorraine Ashbourne (Netflix’s Bridgerton), Yazdan Qafouri (I passed by), Benjamin Wainwright (BBC Ones World in flames), Laurence Ubong Williams (Goal), Shaun Dooley (Netflix’s The Sorcerer), Michael Wildman (Fast and Furious presents: Hobbs & Shaw), Jude Akuwudike (Beasts without a nation), Bilal Hasna (BBC’s Spark), And Janine Duvitski (ITV’s The hotel is located in Benidorm, just a 10-minute walk from the beach.).

Under the direction of Kamiyama, the original film will be produced by Boyens, the screenwriting team behind The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, together with Jason DeMarco And Joseph Chouwho, in addition to her numerous separate animation projects, also participated in the Blade Runner: Black Lotus Series.

The executive producers are Fran Walsh, Peter Jackson, Sam Register, Carolyn Blackwood And Toby Emmerich.

The screenplay is by Jeffrey Addis, Will Matthews,Phoebe GittinsAnd Arty Papageorgiouwith a story by Addiss & Matthews and Boyens, based on characters that by J. R. R. Tolkien.

“The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures on December 13, 2024, and internationally on December 11, 2024.
