The trailer for THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM takes us back to Middle Earth for an epic battle

This Christmas, The Lord of the Rings Director Peter Jackson presents a groundbreaking journey back to Middle-earth through the eyes of legendary director Kenji Kamiyama.

In The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirriman original anime brought to theaters by New Line Cinema, we return to the epic world that was brought to life in The Lord of the Rings trilogybased on the famous books by JRR Tolkien.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama (Blade Runner: Black Lotus), the talented voice actors are led by Brian Cox (Consequence) as Helm Hammerhand, the mighty King of Rohan; Gaia Wise (A walk in the forest) as his daughter Héra; and Luke Pasqualino (Snowpiercer) as Wulf.

Miranda Otto, who delivered an unforgettable, award-winning performance in The Lord of the Rings trilogyslips once again into the role of Éowyn, shieldmaiden of Rohan, who acts as the narrator of the story.

The vocal ensemble also includes Lorraine Ashbourne (Bridgerton), Yazdan Qafouri (I passed by), Benjamin Wainwright (World in flames), Laurence Ubong Williams (Goal), Shaun Dooley (The Sorcerer), Michael Wildman (Fast and Furious presents: Hobbs & Shaw), Jude Akuwudike (Beasts without a nation), Bilal Hasna (Spark) and Janine Duvitski (The hotel is located in Benidorm, just a 10-minute walk from the beach.).

Here is the newly published synopsis for The War of the Rohirrim:

Set 183 years before the events of the original film trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim tells the fate of House Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan. A sudden attack by Wulf, a cunning and ruthless Dunlending lord bent on avenging his father’s death, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand at the ancient fortress of Hornburg – a mighty fortress later known as Helm’s Deep. In an increasingly desperate situation, Héra, daughter of Helm, must muster the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy bent on their utter destruction.

With Kamiyama at the helm, the film is produced by Oscar winner Philippa Boyens, who is part of the screenwriting team of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, along with Jason DeMarco and Joseph Chou, who, in addition to their many separate animation projects, also worked on the Blade Runner: Black Lotus Series.

Executive producers are Fran Walsh, Peter Jackson, Sam Register, Carolyn Blackwood and Toby Emmerich. The screenplay is by Jeffrey Addiss & Will Matthews and Phoebe Gittins & Arty Papageorgiou, the story by Addiss & Matthews and Boyens, based on characters created by JRR Tolkien.

The team of creative employees returns from The Lord of the Rings trilogy Also included are Oscar winners Alan Lee and Richard Taylor as well as the respected Tolkien illustrator John Howe.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will be released nationwide on December 13th and internationally on December 11th.
