spcaLA ADOPTION DETAILS:

  • All spcaLA adoption requirements apply.
  • Adoptions include age-appropriate vaccinations, castration or sterilization, a free veterinary examination and a microchip.
  • Additional fees may apply for medication and the deposit for castration.
  • Submitting an application does not constitute a reservation or retention of the animal, nor does it guarantee adoption.
  • Applications are approved, but sometimes rejected.
  • To adopt, you must be at least 18 years old.
  • Bring your valid, government-issued photo ID with you.
  • Bring any human family members, too. If there is a dog in the house, a dog-to-dog introduction may be necessary.
  • If you are renting/leasing a property, please bring the management contact information or rental agreement. If you own a townhouse or condo, please bring CCR/HOA documents as proof that pets are allowed.
  • Please bring enough time and patience – adoptions can take 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • If several people present express interest in the same animal at the same time, spcaLA will hold a “lottery” among the potential adopters and start the adoption process with the name drawn first.
  • Please note: spcaLA cannot verify arrival times prior to adoption center opening.
