The trend is that Adventures of young Jedi grows up together with its main characters. Since the main trio of the show is so young, it makes sense that they will grow up as the show progresses. Adventures of young Jedi Season 2 proves this and even reflects the slightly older age of the characters with a touch of more mature content. This could even have implications for the future of the show, with The adventures of young Jedi Future installments could further reinforce the more mature tone of the second season.

This is something that the Harry Potter Franchise has been used to great effect. If you take the tone of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone To Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the disparity is obvious. Even the Warner Bros. Entertainment logo became darker and more shabby as the series progressed, creating the same change in tone. As Harry, Ron and Hermione grew older with each year at Hogwarts and thus with each film, they experienced darker adventures as they matured, just as Adventures of young Jedi is exploring.

Interestingly, this approach helped one of the Star Wars’ other animated series become the best of the franchise. Star Wars: The Clone Wars started out as a much more kid-friendly show, although it was more mature than Adventures of young Jedi Season 1. Regardless, the first few seasons of The Clone Wars had some dark elements but was mostly suitable for all ages.

The same applies to The Clone Wars Season 7 was undeniably more mature than the earlier seasons of the series. The later seasons of The Clone Warsespecially the final story arc of Season 7, were much darker and willing to explore the horrors of war, something that wasn’t as common in previous seasons. Adventures of young Jedi follows this pattern, which is probably related to the Harry Potter Franchise.
