The new Payday 3 update adds two epic heists, and one of them is free

Although Payday 3 didn’t exactly get off to the best of starts when it was released last year, the Heist Masters at Starbreeze have been busy getting the ship back on track. Today’s new release Payday 3 The update is the latest step towards redemption and includes a ton of paid and free content, including two new heists, new outfits, and more.

While its predecessor is considered by many to be one of the best co-op games around, Payday 3 failed to make the same impression from the start due to some disastrous server and technical issues. However, it has been patched, continues to be very well supported with new content, and is now a far better and more expansive heisting experience than it was when it released nearly 12 months ago.

The latest pack of new content has just dropped, and while some of it is part of the paid DLC “Houston Breakout,” much of it is completely free for owners of the game. Two brand new heists have been added, one paid and one free. In the paid DLC is the titular “Houston Breakout,” which sees you storming a courthouse to free your crewmate Houston before he goes behind bars. Following this, all players can enjoy the second heist, “Diamond District,” without spending a dime. This is a typical payday heist where you’re given five lootable locations on a street to break into and rob.

In addition to all this new content, there are tons of quality of life changes, ability improvements, and bug fixes. If you want to dive into all the changes, you can check out the full patch notes here.
