OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT) – The morning storm surge of heavy rain and frequent thunder and lightning is moving east fairly quickly on this 6th First Alert Weather Day. Most of it will be over by 7 a.m., which should ease the morning rush. Plus, there’s good news for all the schools starting back up today.

This round shouldn’t last past midnight, then we can calm down and get a decent night’s sleep. Another warm day with temperatures around 27 degrees is likely on Thursday and we could see a few more isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. These look weaker and shouldn’t have a major impact.
