The best thing about the free games on offer is that you can really keep them forever. They aren’t tied to a subscription of any kind. It might be worth signing up if you haven’t already, as they are pretty remarkable.

They must try to survive the threat of infected prisoners and escape from a prison on Callisto, an icy moon of Jupiter. (REDACTED) will be released on October 31st for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The other free gift in the Epic Games Store this week is also interesting. It is a MOBA hero shooter hybrid called Gigantic which has a long and convoluted history. To make a long story short, the game was released in 2017, canceled in 2018, and revived this year by another studio. I played it for a while and found the matches to be fun and chaotic.

The original Gigantic was free to play. While the revival – called Gigantic: Rampage Edition — normally costs $20 and has no microtransactions, so you don’t have to worry about getting ripped off when you pick this game up.
