The Kelly Clarkson Show “strives to create a safe environment”

The “Kelly Clarkson Show” aims to create “a safe and respectful work environment.”
A spokesman for the TV talk show hosted by pop star Kelly Clarkson has rejected allegations that there is a toxic working atmosphere behind the scenes.
An NBCUniversal spokesperson told PEOPLE: “We are committed to providing a safe and respectful work environment and take workplace complaints very seriously. To suggest otherwise is untrue.”
The spokesperson also confirmed that the broadcaster is willing to investigate any allegations or concerns raised.
The statement continued: “When issues are reported, they are promptly reviewed, investigated, and appropriate action taken. ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and equitable workplace that fosters a culture of inclusivity and creativity.”
A former employee recently complained to Rolling Stone, claiming that crew members were “overworked” and “underpaid.”
They said: “I remember climbing up to the roof of the stage and crying. I thought, ‘Oh my God, what am I doing? Why am I doing this to myself?'”
Nevertheless, insiders told Rolling Stone that 41-year-old Kelly “has no idea how unhappy her employees are.”
They added: “I would be shocked if she knew. I would be stunned if she knew that staff are not paid for the two-week Christmas break. The Kelly I dealt with, and who everyone knows, would probably be pretty horrified if she found out.”
Kelly started her show in 2019 and previously stressed that she was approaching the challenge realistically.
The pop star told Variety: “I have a lot of respect for the Oprahs and the Ellens. Very few people can achieve what they have achieved.”
“My team is really excited and I believe in my team. But I’m definitely not following in anyone’s footsteps – I don’t want that pressure.”
