The Holmes County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit, Florida, arrests four people for drug trafficking and seizure of half a pound of methamphetamine



On August 22, 2024, the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Narcotics Enforcement Division successfully conducted an operation that resulted in the arrest of four individuals involved in drug trafficking and the seizure of more than half a pound (10 ounces) of methamphetamine in Holmes County.

This operation was the culmination of an ongoing HCSO investigation targeting the distribution of methamphetamine within the county.

The operation included the execution of a search warrant in the Gritney community and two successful undercover operations.

The following people were arrested during this operation:

Melissa Carroll – charged with possession of methamphetamine

James Johnson of Freeport – human trafficking charges

Methamphetamine over 28 grams

Samantha Palmer of Freeport – charged with trafficking over 28 grams of methamphetamine

Dominique Kennedy of DeFuniak Springs – charged with trafficking over 200 grams of methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine and unauthorized use of two-way communication

Sheriff Tate emphasized the importance of the operation, stating, “This operation is a significant success in our efforts to combat the distribution of methamphetamine in Holmes County. We will continue to relentlessly pursue those who threaten the safety and well-being of our community through the illegal drug trade.”
