The heated argument between Strickland and Machine Gun Kelly escalates

The conflict between UFC fighter Sean Strickland and musician Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), real name Colson Baker, has continued to escalate since their confrontation at a Power Slap event in Las Vegas in February 2024. The tension began when Strickland mocked Kelly’s appearance, calling him a “vampire” and a “goth South Park character.” The incident quickly went viral, garnering media attention and prompting UFC President Dana White to comment:

“You can’t put Sean Strickland in the company of other people.”

MGK’s perspective and advice to Strickland

Machine Gun Kelly recently appeared on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive to share his perspective on the feud, explaining that he didn’t know who Strickland was at the time of their meeting, but later learned of his controversial behavior.

“I don’t know this guy closely,” Kelly said. “I didn’t know who he was when I met him. I later realized he was incredibly racist and homophobic and just not my type, so I would never have wanted to shake his hand.”

Kelly also criticized Strickland for his insecurities and said his behavior was due to self-doubt.

“When you’re comfortable with yourself, you don’t care who the others are and what they’re like,” he explained. In more direct advice, Kelly told Strickland to “shut up” and stop talking about him. He added, “But you won’t, and I’m going to keep laughing at you because you’re a f***ing idiot.”

Strickland’s aggressive reaction

Strickland, known for his uncompromising and confrontational style, immediately responded to Kelly’s comments with a series of offensive tweets.

“I’m being lectured by a guy who drinks blood and carries a purse,” he tweeted. “Dude you had a midlife crisis and tattooed your whole body. The ‘x community of intolerance’ y’all, I’d rather hang out with you toxic trolls than that cunt… Go back to cutting you fucking nutcase.”

Strickland’s tweets further provoked Kelly by referencing his past mental health issues, which have been a sensitive subject for the musician. Strickland’s response came shortly after Kelly’s podcast appearance and showed his determination to keep the feud alive. Kelly has yet to respond to these recent comments, but given the nature of their interaction, it’s unlikely this will be the end of their public feud.

Ongoing consequences and future impacts

Since the incident, both Strickland and Kelly have continued to speak out on social media. Strickland’s recent comments have sparked controversy, particularly for his reference to Kelly’s past self-harm, which many fans felt went too far. Kelly, on the other hand, seems unfazed by Strickland’s insults and doesn’t hesitate to continue to call him out.

Should Strickland and Kelly meet again, whether at a UFC event or another Power Slap event, there will undoubtedly be tension. UFC officials, including Dana White, will likely be monitoring the situation closely to prevent further confrontations between the two.

This ongoing feud between Machine Gun Kelly and Sean Strickland shows just how unpredictable celebrity relationships are and how quickly they can escalate. With both men known for their bold personalities, it remains uncertain how or when this feud will end. However, it is clear that neither is willing to back down anytime soon.
