“Harry Potter” star Bonnie Wright admitted that she was disappointed with her limited screen presence in the series.

The actor played Ginny Weasley in all eight films in the series, from “The Philosopher’s Stone” in 2001 to “The Deathly Hallows: Part 2” in 2011.

Ginny’s characterization in the films was criticized by loyal fans of the books; her on-screen role was reportedly cut.

Wright, who has since also directed music videos, appeared on the “Inside of You” podcast alongside Michael Rosenbaum and revealed that she had some concerns about her screen time throughout the franchise.

“I definitely feel like I was afraid to play and act my role as best as I could as my character was developing,” she began. “It was like, ‘Oh God, am I doing justice to this character that people love?’ That was always hard, especially when inevitably a lot of scenes with each character were cut from the book to the movies.

“So you couldn’t really show a lot in the movies. (It was) a little disappointing because some parts of the character just didn’t come across because there weren’t any scenes for them. I guess that worried me a little bit or just frustrated me.

“There just wasn’t a lot of room for change in those scripts. A million executives went through them all. What I took to heart then – which I don’t take to heart so much now – was that I was afraid of being seen as someone who embodied that character poorly, rather than realizing later that I didn’t really have the opportunity to do that. So it wasn’t really my fault.”

Wright announced earlier this year that she is expecting her first child with husband Andrew Lococo. The star announced the news a year after their wedding.
