The full cast list for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is official

The cast for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has been announced. The series, which stars Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti, has added its latest regular member, British-Canadian model Sandro Rosta. According to IMDP, Rosta has only appeared in two other projects.

The first was a short film called Snitches Get Stitches and it’s about puppets who are part of a violent gang. But they’re like Sesame Street puppets who get caught up in a violent lifestyle. That seems pretty interesting. The other project is an as-yet-unreleased film called Drained. Neither film seems to have any big names in it, so this will be Rosta’s first outing with top talent like Hunter and Ggiamatti.

Of course, Rosta isn’t the only new actor joining the cast. Most of the names are new, like Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Zoe Steiner, and others. Of course, they’re not the only names joining the crew. Star Trek veterans Robert Picardo and Tig Notaro are back as regulars, reprising their previous roles from Star Trek’s Voyager and Discovery, respectively.

Oded Fehr and Mary Wiseman will also be joining Star Trek, reprising their roles from Discovery as guest stars. The cast list certainly embodies the typical Star Trek approach, which is a tried-and-tested method of typically having newer names take on the show’s roles from the captain down. While some, like William Shatner and Patrick Stewart, had experience before Star Trek, most of Star Trek’s “big names” found their success through the franchise.

The rare exception is Scott Bakula. The casting of Hunter and Giamatti arguably surpasses Bakula’s as the biggest names joining a Star Trek franchise for the first time. This makes Starfleet Academy a very interesting and unique show as it combines the usual approach to Star Trek show casting with a new and bold approach.

The full cast list as we currently know it can be seen below.
