The festival has grown every year, except for a brief hiatus during the pandemic.

This year’s event will feature a star-studded line-up. Kirk Whalum, a 12-time Grammy nominee best known for his solo on Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You,” will be in attendance. Boney Jones – named one of Billboard’s top three contemporary jazz artists of the decade – will also perform, among other artists, at the three-day event.

“It’s incredible to me. I look back and think, ‘We’ve come so far in these 5 years,'” says Carl. “With COVID and everything, to start in the middle of it and keep going, and now it’s growing and we’ve got people coming from Australia, Germany and all over the country this year.”

The Fresh Coast Jazz Festival begins with a wine event on Thursday night and runs through Saturday. Information on tickets and the schedule can be found here.
