Legendary director Kenji Kamiyama proves once again why he is the GOAT

A new Lord of the rings A new movie is in the works set in the same universe as Peter Jackson’s original trilogy. This isn’t a drill. This is a theatrical release, folks.

Warner Bros. released the first trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim last night, and I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say it looks incredible.

Check out the trailer below!

It takes place about 180 years before the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring but after the events of The Hobbitand focuses on the character Helm Hammerhand.

Helm Hammerhand was mentioned directly in Return of the King book and serves as the namesake for Helm’s Deep, so it seems like the creative team behind the film is trying to make it as story-driven as possible.

Director Kenji Kamiyama is a legendary figure in the world of anime and his portfolio of work speaks for itself. He is the director behind incredible projects such as Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex, Blade Runner: Black Lotus And 009 Subject: Cyborg.

This is the second time the director has worked with Warner Bros. on one of their works, following his work on the adaptation Blade Runner 2049 Animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus.

Several actors from Peter Jackson’s original trilogy also return in the new film, including Miranda Otto, who returns as Éowyn (although apparently only as the film’s narrator).

Dominic Monaghan is also expected to return, although it is not yet clear whether the actor will reprise his role as Merry Brandybuck, the Hobbit.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim The release is officially scheduled for December 13th of this year, but it is not yet known which streaming service the film will be available on after its theatrical run ends.

Although Amazon Lord of the rings TV shows, it is possible that this will end up on the Warner Bros. Discovery Service instead.
