The Buffalo Bills injury list is getting longer

The Buffalo Bills injury list is getting longer

The most important thing about the preseason is coming out of it healthy, but the Bills have struggled a bit with that this season.

The preseason is tough. You want to get your players playing as much as possible to get them the reps they need, but at the same time you want to protect them from injury.

Last year, the Bills battled some incredibly serious injuries. Tre’Davious White tore his Achilles after injuring his ACL. Matt Milano broke his leg. DaQuan Jones tore his pectoral muscle. And all of that happened in the first half of the season.

The Bills are battling injuries again this year. One of the most serious and devastating injuries is of course Matt Milano’s torn bicep after he spent all of last year rehabbing his leg. Two weeks ago they lost Chase Claypool with a toe injury. Shane Buchele was placed on the injured list after his injury against the Bears.

This week they lost backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky to a knee injury, wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a neck injury and Quintin Morris to a shoulder injury.

Many of them are reserve players, but often teams with a lot of talent advance in the playoffs.

Fortunately, coach McDermott is not taking any chances against the Panthers this weekend. He has already decided to hold the starters out of this Saturday’s game.

And all of this before the regular season has even started. You know the phrase that availability is the best skill, and that holds true for the Bills. These coaches are going to need healthy players on the roster. It will be interesting to see what happens with many of these guys as we get closer and closer to cut day next week.
