But if there is anything that could rival his complicated plots, it is his disdain for JK Rowling and her Harry Potter series. And the rivalry seems to have been sparked at the 2001 Hugo Awards when his book A storm of swords lost against Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

And the defeat seemed to have hit a nerve, as Martin previously joked, according to Business Insider.

Eat your heart, Rowling – You may have billions of dollars and my Hugo, but you don’t have readers like these.

Martin did not even spare the former US President when he mocked Barack Obama for being a Harry Potter Fan. In a blog titled Another great thing about Barack Obama, He tells how pleased he was when he learned that the former president was an avid collector of Spider Man And Barbar Comics.

But in true Martin fashion, he couldn’t resist a dig and said: “This is so cool that I’m willing to forgive him for being a Harry Potter fan.”

However, being under pressure is nothing new for him. His fans are constantly demanding the publication of the next book in his series. The winds of winter. And the author recently talked about why he hasn’t been able to finish the book yet.
